Position is Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm with the ability to work additional hours as needed.

Incumbent should be located within the Arvest 4 State Footprint (AR, KS, MO, OK).

We are seeking a hands-on Finance Professional to join our Financial Planning & Analysis team at Arvest. You will play a key role in leading leaders to make data-driven decisions. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills and experience with financial forecasting, analysis, story telling and project management.

Experience with Oracle EPM is a plus, though not required.

SUMMARY: The associate is a strategic partner with Local Bank and Division Management responsible for a variety of financial, operational and business analysis functions. The associate is to support Local Bank and Division Management Teams, Division Presidents and Regional CEOs in analyzing strategic decisions, financial information, operational processes and business plans. As directed, the incumbent provides financial analysis and other assistance for group goals and other projects. The incumbent must be able to lead others from various functional areas at all levels of responsibility and be able to think creatively when developing new solutions or solving problems.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Working within the Arvest budgeting procedures and guidelines, lead the process to develop the annual operating budget to reflect Local Bank or Division business plans and to meet internal profitability targets. Support the Local Bank CEO or Division President in the preparation and presentation of the budget during the budget review meeting. Work closely with other Finance Division associates who provide systems and research support to complete the budgets within the prescribed timelines.
  • Use the monthly Financial Statement Analysis (FSA) Reports, Variance Reports and other standard monthly, weekly or daily reports to analyze financial and operating results to support Local Bank management teams in managing the business. Assist Local Bank and Division Management in understanding the content of standard monthly reports and how to use in monitoring and improving the business.
  • Provide financial analysis support for major capital budget decisions (such as new branch decisions, branch closings and technology investments) to evaluate the economics as well as income statement impact of the decision, for profitability analysis of products or households and for other special projects. Ensure that the appropriate Finance Division associates who are responsible for regulatory filings are aware of the capital budget decisions in order to ensure receiving timely approval from the Arkansas State Bank Department and Federal Reserve, as applicable.
  • Assist Local Bank and Division Management in the analysis of operational efficiency and in improving work processes to support customer service.
  • Spend a significant amount of time working in the assigned Local Banks, as applicable. Attendance at periodic Local Bank Board and management team meetings, including annual strategic planning meetings, is required. Attendance at meetings includes being able to respond to questions regarding financial performance and related matters and, in some cases, making the financial report to the board and during management team meetings.
  • Serve as a liaison between the Finance Division and the Local Bank or Division.
  • Provide financial support to Arvest Bank CFO and other senior management for group goals, product development teams, process design teams and other group projects.
  • Assist with the financial analysis of and participate in due diligence reviews, as needed. May be asked to provide assistance with system conversion of the acquired bank.
  • Understand and comply with bank policy, laws, regulations, and the bank's BSA/AML Program, as applicable to your job duties. This includes but is not limited to; complete compliance training and adhere to internal procedures and controls; report any known violations of compliance policy, laws, or regulations and report any suspicious customer and/or account activity.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelors degree or higher with a focus in accounting or finance or equivalent experience in the field of banking required.
  • 7 years experience in accounting, finance, and/or audit experience together with an understanding of advanced analysis techniques (discounted present value, internal rate of return, modeling, etc.) and experience in using such techniques required.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and experience in the use of Excel or other spreadsheet software required.
  • Experience with CBS subsystems preferred.
  • MBA or other relevant graduate degrees preferred.
  • CPA preferred.
